Preliminary details announced including participating sports and volunteer expression of interest for the 2020 Summer Games taking place again in London, July 30-August 2, 2020.
(London, ON) – With one year to go until London welcomes over 3400 participants and their families to London for the London 2020 Ontario Summer Games, the Games Organizing Committee today announced details on participating sports, and volunteer information.
The London 2020 Ontario Summer Games will feature the following sport competitions.
Canoe Kayak Sprint
Skeet shooting and men’s softball are new to the 2020 program, along with the combination of beach volleyball and indoor volleyball as a single sport event. Venues are still being finalized and will be announced in the coming weeks.
Participants will once again be housed at Western University campus, in addition to the site for the Opening Ceremony. Local technology company, EventConnect (formerly RoomRoster), will return as the official accommodation and registration provider for the London 2020 Ontario Summer Games.
Volunteer feedback was tremendous in 2018 and we look forward to working with another great group of over 1000 volunteers again in 2020! For those interested in volunteering, expressions of interests are now available at www.london2020.ca. Those who submit an expression of interest, will be contacted when the official volunteer registration opens this winter.
